The Conception Kit® at-home system can be used to optimize the effectiveness of fertility medication and increase chances of conception.

Conceiving a child is a complex biological process that requires many different factors to align in order to successfully occur. The National Women’s Health Resource Center reports that even couples ages 29-33 with a normal functioning reproductive system have just a 20-25% chance of conceiving during each month. According to the 2006-2010 National Survey of Family Growth performed by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), one in eight couples in the United States have a difficult time getting pregnant or sustaining a pregnancy. Facing the challenges of infertility can be a difficult experience for many people but thankfully there are many resources and treatments available to assist couples in getting pregnant.

Maximizing the Effects of Fertility Medication

In some cases, a couple may consult with their medical professional and decide to use fertility medications such as clomiphene citrate, also known as Clomid® or Serophene®. In these cases, the medications are used to stimulate egg production. When this occurs, it is important to optimize the conditions for every available sperm to swim through the cervix and continue towards the egg.   Regular sexual intercourse is not the most effective way to accomplish this when you consider 90% of the sperm die and will not survive the first tem minutes inside the vagina.  However, couples can increase their chances by using the Conception Kit® at-home fertility treatment to maximize the chances for conception.   The key to doing this is the Conception Cap® a cervical cap designed especially for conception.  After sex, the sperm are transferred into the Conception Cap®. The Conception Cap® is used to shield fragile sperm cells from the harmful acidic environment of the vagina, allowing them to live for four to six hours instead of minutes giving them more time to enter the cervix. The Conception Cap® also prevents the back flow of semen into the vagina due to gravity and maintains a concentrated pool of semen in direct contact with the cervical mucus where the sperm make the transfer from the ejaculate to the cervical mucus. This gives the sperm the best chances for entering the cervix and moving towards the egg that has been released during ovulation.

A Perfect Pair

The Conception Kit® at-home system contains only select medical devices and not drugs. For this reason, the Conception Kit® at-home system is the perfect addition to fertility medications. The combination ensures that all available sperm are concentrated at the cervical opening at the same time that egg production is being maximized during each prescribed fertility medication cycle.  Patients will need to consult their health care provider to obtain a prescription for the Conception Kit® at-home system. For many patients the Conception Kit® at-home system will be a simple co-pay at the pharmacy as a covered pharmacy benefit of their insurance plan.
